Book Themed Birthday Party

I figured that if I was getting this in writing before April that I was doing pretty good in comparison to last year's birthday party post (or lack of). We had Ava's party on the 20th of February and somehow squeezed 36 people into our new home. What started as a two year old's birthday turned out to be a house-warming party too. Which actually made it kind of fun- getting to show it off to all of our friends and some family (it made up for all of the hours of hard labor). For the first time I think Ava understood that we were celebrating her that day. All of the presents and blowing out the candles put her in the hot seat, and she ate the attention right up (well, with some caution of course). The food was so much easier this year- that preparing for the party felt like a breeze! I was actually a joy to be around! Everything including the decor was meant to reflect a school library theme, starting with primary colors and the "hot lunch" food that went along with each of her favorite books. I would say that we kicked off "Chapter 2" with a bang-
